Did you know that since 1996 when National Tree Day started there have been 26 million trees planted?!
For the past 15 years John Madill Toyota have been supporting local schools across Gympie and Noosa through Toyota Australia’s School Tree Day.
Each year we help plant native trees at one of our local schools while encouraging a community-first mindset for students and their parents – all while creating a better future.
This year we visited Noosaville State School to plant native trees in their Outdoor Learning Area and thought we’d bring along some extra helping hands from Sunshine Butterflies’ Supported Employment workers.
Sunshine Butterflies Supported Employment Initiative offers opportunities for individuals living with disability to work in the local community, develop small business skills and gain independence and confidence in the workforce. The SB team have even kept our dealership looking fresh with an incredible indoor display of native trees to raise awareness of National Tree Day.
While every day can be Tree Day, you can get involved this month by planting a native tree in your own backyard or even organise a community event to regenerate an existing space.
This is your call to action to get out there and get your hands dirty and give back to our communities.
